Tools in the Mobile App

With a paid Pro subscription, users have access to a set of tools in the mobile app. To access them, tap the crossed ruler and pencil icon ( ), which can be seen at the bottom right of your screen.

Tip

Additional tools and functionality are available only on the web app. Check out the web app support pages to learn all about what's available.

Drop Pin

The Drop Pin tool allows users to do two things.

First, users can find the lat/long coordinates of any place on the map by moving the crosshair into the desired location. If you want to copy this lat/long value, simply "long press" the value, and you should see the "copy" option pop up.

Second, users can drop a pin to save a particular location. Any saved pins will show up in the user's 'Saved' panel, which is the middle option ( Follow icon ) in the main screen's bottom right toolbar.

Measure

The Measure tool is used to find distance and area measurements. Simply position the crosshairs at your starting point, then tap "Start Measuring". Move the crosshair to the next point of interest (you'll see a dotted line connecting the two); from there, you can either click "Finish" (if you wanted to calculate the simple line distance) or "Add Point" if you want to either measure a more complex line or an area.

Once you've added three or more points to your calculation, the tool will automatically start to calculate the area contained within the points you've laid down. At this point you'll be able to see both the perimeter length ("Distance"), as well as the area contained within that path ("Area").

At any point if you want to remove a point, you can tap "Undo".

Here is a video tutorial demonstrating the Distance and Area functions.

Draw Area

Users can use the Draw Area tool to create a custom area (perhaps your neighborhood, or an area of interest) that you'd like to add to your Saved list. For this tool, you'll want to position the map so that you can see the entire area you want to define, then tap "Begin Drawing". From there, you'll be able to "draw with your finger" the area you want to save.
