GERS ID FAQ

Regrid has matched the Overture Maps Foundation’s Places Dataset (Points-of-Interest) to the Regrid Nationwide Parcel product. This bridge file matches the Regrid ID to the Overture GERS (Global Entity Reference System) IDs

Containing the IDs of over 11 million GERS places matched to more than 8 million parcels within the United States, the link between the Overture Places Data and the Regrid Parcel Data offers faster access to insights users can’t arrive at with either dataset independently, without requiring a complicated or expensive join. For example, directly linking demographic, zoning, land classification, and property area details from Regrid's parcel dataset with business information from Overture Places enables a wide variety of site selection use cases, from small one location businesses to nationwide chains.

Bridge file structure & coverage

Value Definition
ll_uuid Regrid ID of the matched parcel
gers_id GERS (Global Entity Reference System) ID of the given point
geoid GEOID (FIPS Code) of the county the point matched to

A point-in-polygon join was used to produce these matches. One GERS ID may match to several Regrid IDs (parcels) when the parcels are stacked

One Regrid ID may have several matched GERS IDs. An example situation is businesses like malls, where multiple stores are located on one parcel.

A count of matches by county is available in this sheet.

The bridge file does not contain the business information directly. Instead, it links to the stable ID in the Overture Places dataset. Overture is the best source for the most current Places dataset.
